Stratasys is saying one thing when it comes to repairing faulty drive blocks while Pivot AM Service is singing a completely different tune to the benefit of Fortus 360mc and 400mc owners. Here is the question and answer between a customer and Stratasys when asking Stratasys if they could replace a broken Drive Block Motor:
Question to Stratasys: We have issue with motor Faulhaber 2224U024S RL 0314 on drive block of Fortus 400mc. We need to replace motor in drive block. But we received from Stratasys following answer
Stratasys answer: Only the motor is not available as a spare part. We only sell the whole filament drive, cause some alignments are necessary to get the motor running correctly, which are not possible in the field.
Further I need to make you aware of, that the Fortus 400mc is off service since December 2024. The drives are only available cause they equal to the F900.
When customer reached out to Pivot AM Service our answer: don’t believe what Stratasys is saying in their response. We sell just the motor, the alignment comment is just a red herring. Even the Off Service comment is laughable, Pivot will be supporting these machines for years to come. Stratasys are just trying to force customers to trade in and upgrade.
