Gotta love the timing of the latest Stratasys announcement, on the heels of my blog post yesterday, that Stratasys Spare part and Labor pricing will increase 3%. An excerpt here:

Despite our best efforts in managing rising costs in labor, logistics and materials, we need to extend a marginal increase on the price of Spare Parts, Service Technician Time (labor and installation) and select Materials (primarily FDM and PolyJet) by an average of 3% in 2025.
As a reminder, printers under service contract receive most spare parts free-of-charge, no additional hourly charges, and prioritized scheduling when an on-site visit is needed. We are pleased to confirm that there will be no price increase on service contracts in 2025.
Pivot’s translation:
A) another annual price increase, unless you to buy an overpriced OEM service contract
B) you can buy one of our “logical manufacturing” refurbished machines with mandatory two year Labor only service contract but the parts and materials will cost 3% more
Pivot’s Recommendation:
Buy our refurbished machines for less, no mandatory service contracts and our Fortus materials are at least 35% less than OEM pricing.
