A customer wanted to try a new SLA material but didn’t want to bear the expense of a full fill of a Resin Delivery Module (RDM) aka Material Delivery Module (MDM) in a 3D Systems iPro 8000 SLA machine. Customer had a spare RDM so they hired Pivot to modify the RDM from a full vat into a half-depth RDM saving half the vat fill volume of material. Pivot used our fabrication skills and knowledge of the iPro 8000 to weld a new floor in the RDM saving the customer half of the expense to try a new material.
This was a great way to use the spare RDM to test a new material at half the cost of a full vat fill.
