Welcome to the first edition of the Extend the Life Fortus 360 / 400mc Series where we’ll be sharing success stories from the week previous’ service calls. What machines the Pivot team was working on, what they did, and how they got a Pivot customer’s critical path 3D printing technology back up and running.
The week of 11/10 had one of Pivot’s reps at a lab in the mid-Atlantic region. One of our filament customers was having troubles with booting up their Fortus 400mc after a power outage. They knew that Pivot’s extend the life campaign meant that we had the materials and parts to service this machine for another 4 years.
The customer also opted in to Stratasys recommended (back before they tried to end of life them) preventative maintenance (PMs). Pivot offers 6, 12, and 24 month PM’s on the 400mc which range all the way from simple kits to lubricate moving parts to full refurbishments of high wear and tear components.
A few short hours, some tests, and voila! The machine was back running like new. So well the customer even asked if we could then unlock the machine to run Carbon Fiber for them. But that’s a story for another post.
